Alexander Wang Recruits A-List Army for New Campaign

Alexander Wang may have just left his post as Balenciaga’s creative director, but the prolific designer who just celebrated his first decade in the industry is already back in the spotlight with a high-profile new project.

To draw attention to youth issues that matter, Wang has joined forces with DoSomething.org, one of the world’s largest organizations for social change.

The new logo-driven line of AW x DoSomething.org “Do Something” T-shirts and hoodies looks pretty much exactly like what you would expect from Wang in such a collaboration—simple but loud black and white pieces of unequivocal intention. The collab’s promotional campaign, however, is surprising in its star power, even for a designer of Wang’s caliber.

Everyone from Kanye West to Pamela Anderson joined in to help promote the initiative and appear in the star-studded portrait campaign, which debuted earlier this week and features 38 musicians, actors, models, and more, including Wang himself.

Shot by New York-based photographer Steven Klein and creative directed by Pascal Dangin of KiDS Creative, the celebrity-heavy campaign mixes no messages in promoting the charitable clothing line, of which 50 percent of the proceeds from each item sold will go to DoSomething.org.
